Junior Cabin Leader (Volunteer)
RISK ASSESSMENT: HIGH
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 17 years of age and at least 2 years older than the oldest camper 
- Be comfortable creating space for children and youth to develop and reflect on their own faith 
- Comfortable in a Christian ecumenical environment, having developed a solid understanding of the aims and philosophy of the Camp Grafton ministry, as outlined in the camp Mission Statement 
- Is at ease working in a rustic setting, challenging one’s physical and mental strength 
- Is in good health 
- Be youth-oriented and enjoy working in a team environment. 
DUTIES:
- Attend at least one pre-camp orientation session 
- Ensure a full personal understanding of all emergency and safety procedures as covered in staff training. 
- With fellow Leaders, creates a safe and nurturing environment in which campers’ individual strengths are valued and in which they are able to explore their own faith. 
- Assumes 24 hour care of 6-8 campers in a cabin group. This includes health, safety, and emotional development, to the limit of the counsellor’s expertise and abilities. 
- Participates in all activities with the larger camp group. 
- Maintains full order amongst cabin mates. Confront and correct campers when necessary. 
- Act as a mentor for a Leader in Training, when one is assigned. 
- Communicate daily with the directors and the staff about any areas of concern and items of praise. 
- Leads and supervises chore groups, ensures campers attend all meals, and participate in all activities. 
- Completes a camp evaluation form and submits it to the Director. 
- Assumes other duties, such as camp cleanup and maintenance, assigned by the director when necessary. - OPTIONAL:- Participate in program planning prior to camp opening. 
 
Weekly honorarium available: $300
Paid Senior Cabin Leader
RISK ASSESSMENT: HIGH
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 17 years of age and at least 2 years older than the oldest camper 
- Be comfortable creating space for children and youth to develop and reflect on their own faith 
- Comfortable and have developed a solid understanding of the aims and philosophy of Camp Grafton, as outlined in the camp Mission Statement. 
- Is at ease working in a rustic setting, challenging one’s physical and mental strength 
- Is in good health 
- Be youth-oriented and enjoy working in a team environment 
- Have basic first aid prior to the start of camp (Any single first aid course between 8-34 hrs that provides provincial or national certification and has a curriculum approved by a medical advisory board (e.g. WCB, OFA, St. John First Aid, Red Cross, NLS, etc.) 
DUTIES:
- Participate in required training components and courses as required by the Camp Grafton Society 
- Participate in camp preparation (up to two weeks prior to start of summer program) 
- Participate in program planning prior to camp opening.

Wage: $136/day
