RISK ASSESSMENT: HIGH
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be at least 19 years of age 
- Hold valid certification for first aid and for CPR 
- Hold valid National Life Guarding Service (NLS) ticket and have life guarding experience 
- Small water craft experience, ability to teach or assist in the teaching of canoeing skills. 
DUTIES:
- Participate in required training components and courses as required by the Camp Grafton Society 
- Participate in camp preparation (two weeks prior to start of summer program) 
- Participate in program planning prior to camp opening. 
- Document events, and prepare reports during and after camp season 
- Supervise all waterfront activity 
- Obtain information from camper’s registration form regarding camper’s swimming ability or any related health problems which may affect the camper’s safety. 
- Develop, implement, evaluate and be responsible for all aspects of waterfront health and safety, in cooperation with other staff. 
- Educate the campers, Volunteer Leaders, Volunteer Staff, and Summer Staff as to the Waterfront Policies and Procedures, especially those regarding safety, and enforcement thereof. 
- Ensure the safety and maintenance of all waterfront facilities and equipment. 
- Assess the swimming ability of campers, Volunteer Leaders, Volunteer Staff, and Summer Staff on the first day of each camp session and enforce restrictions on the basis of the assessments. 
- Work with other staff as a team and ensure that Emergency Procedures are regularly reviewed and tested. 
- Actively participate as a member of the Program Staff team in other aspects of camp when the waterfront is closed. 
- Model enthusiastic, mature leadership to campers and volunteers. 
- Be sensitive to and strive toward fulfilling the objectives and Mission of Camp Grafton. 
Wage: $136/day
